Vicente: Muscle spasm

MUSCLE spasm is a painful state which usually strikes athletes and exercise buffs.

Most common parts are the legs, and the lower back which could sideline anyone, anytime. One must understand why it occurs and how to deal with it because while it will just last for a while, giving it the wrong attention will worsen the situation and will surely reoccur due to tearing of muscles owing to aggressive or wrong stretching when trying to relieve the pain.

Muscle spasm or muscle cramp is due to many common causes, like muscle overuse, muscle fatigue, dehydration, over stretching, injured previously, strained etc.

Occurrence of muscle cramp does not give any warning and could strike anytime when the muscle is pushed to the limits and it will be painful.

It also does not just occur during physical activities, although commonly occurring with athletes. Some experiences this painful ordeal in their sleep that they even associate it with “bangungot” or nightmare.

The pain varies from person to person and depending on his activities and lifestyle which may cause abnormalities in his system affecting the muscles. It will only affect muscle parts of the body and maybe the whole, depending on its severity of the cause. The explanation why common occurrences only affects certain parts of the body is because it is only the part that receives most of the work, thus, when it reaches its limit, it gives in and causes abnormality hence the attack of the muscle spasm.

Medical experts associate the occurrence of muscle spasm to a more complex circumstance that leads to the ordeal, which involves abnormalities in the working conditions of some organs etc. Amidst medical complexities, common occurrences of muscle cramps could be addressed by soft stretching of the affected muscle and drinking water to rehydrate. Some physical therapist even suggests to just relax and cope with the pain which will eventually pass.

Now you know that muscles spasm is not just because of the cold weather. Some neglected reasons are involved should be given attention so it will not complicate.
