27 tricycle drivers receive new units

EMCOR INC., the dealer of motorcycles, Bajaj RE tri-wheeler, appliances, furniture, computers and IT (information technology) products; and the Jesus V. del Rosario Foundation (JVRF) gave back to the community through their corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Among Emcor’s CSR activities already in place are the scholarship grants, feeding program, school building donations and relief operation campaigns during calamities.

Now Emcor and the JVRF are helping families from the society’s marginalized sector. This year, beneficiaries are the poor but deserving members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (Toda). They have been pre-qualified for the program.

The project is aligned with the poverty alleviation program of the government.

Each beneficiary received a unit of Bajaj RE tri-wheeler, which he can use as tricycle for hire to earn a living.

The Bajaj RE tri-wheeler comes with free three-year Land Transportation Office registration, three-year Compulsory Third-Party Liability insurance, three-year tricycle franchise and one-year comprehensive insurance. This will be on a rent-to-own basis. However, there will be no cash-out upon turnover of the unit because it is a zero-down-payment and zero-interest program for 36 months.

Upon full payment of the 36-month term, another beneficiary can avail himself of the program. So the number of beneficiaries will be multiplied every three years.

Twenty-seven beneficiaries from Mandaue City have received their Bajaj RE tri-wheeler units.

The turnover of the units was witnessed by some local executives, officers of Emcor and the JVRF and the families of the 27 beneficiaries.
