BEING one of the standouts in this year's Miss Universe beauty pageant, Philippine bet Catriona Gray seems to be confident towards her journey in winning the most coveted crown.

The 24-year-old model-singer received one of the loudest cheers at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand Thursday night, December 13.

For the opening segment of the preliminaries, the candidates wore gowns from Sherri Hill.

Catriona's pick was a black dress with metallic embellishments.

Catriona lit the stage on fire with her “Lava Walk” during the swimsuit round of the competition.

The Bicolana beauty queen and 93 other contestants wore swimsuits designed by Thailand's beloved princess Sirivannavari Nariratana.

Catriona's pick was a hot pink one-piece swimsuit with cutouts on the sides.

For the evening gown part of the competition, Catriona slayed the runway wearing a custom-made gown designed by Filipino fashion designer, Mak Tumang.

In an Instagram post by @missesphilippines, Mak reportedly made seven gowns for Catriona's bid for the Miss Universe crown. However, the 24-year-old beauty queen only brought three to Bangkok.

Thai host Pete K and Miss Universe 2017 Demi Leigh Nel-Peters hosted the event.

Miss Universe has an all-female panel of judges for this year's competition which includes Filipino-American fashion designer Monique Lhuillier, Miss New Jersey USA 2004 and Women's March founder Janaye Ingram; Moroccan-American entrepreneur Iman Oubou, entrepreneur and CEO of CulturIntel and CIEN + TV Lili Gil Valetta; and CEO of Platinum Skies Aviation and FinTech Casha and vice chairperson of the LCS Group of Companies Richelle Singson-Michael.
