Influences of Korean culture is seen in our city, and in our country, from K-drama to K-pop. I am a fan of their soap operas, fashion style, and food. My friends and I usually eat at the Red Station, Mr. Ramyun, and sometimes, even at the Korean Palace here in Baguio. That is why my short trip to Seoul, South Korea, with my aunt and siblings, last November 1, was an affirmation of all these great experiences.
We went to popular places, such as the Nami Island, Everland, Myeongdong, and Seoul Tower. I would have to say that my visit to the Nami Island was one of my favorites because of the colors of the trees. Fall was beautifully evident. It was indeed an ideal place for splendid photos.
Our day trip to Everland, South Korea’s largest theme park was exciting because we rode the T-Express - South Korea's first wooden coaster, and world's fourth steepest wooden roller coaster. It is also the world's ninth fastest, fourth tallest, and sixth longest wooden coaster!
The daytime tour was enjoyable but it was quite difficult to roam around at night especially at three degrees Celsius! But nevertheless, it was one good trip! Not to mention that our package came with buffet meals of local recipes during the entire stay.
My dad’s sister coming home from the US for a short vacation was funfilled. Our stay at Villa Escudero, Tiaong, Quezon Province last December 6, was unique as the place was truly Filipino themed and inspired. Filipino crafts were well-curated in every nook with irresistible items at the souvenir shop to take home as memories.
The employees and their families who comprised this wonderful and hospitable community proudly wore traditional Filipino costumes throughout the day.
The cottages of nipa were quaint and comfy. The place was certainly and totally breathtaking and instagrammable. Eating lunch by the Labasin Waterfalls, rafting with my kuya, and visiting the Heritage museum of Villa Escudero, were just some of the many activities. The museum tour was, by far, the best because of the stories that speak of each religious and cultural artifact.
