Bago tops regional health awards

ILOILO. Personnel of the City Health Office of Bago City led by Dr. Ferdinand Ramon Mayoga present to Mayor Nicholas Yulo the awards and checks amounting to P700,000 garnered by their office in the recently concluded Department of Health Regional Recognition of Partners and Stakeholders held in Iloilo City on December 7.

THE City of Bago won various awards during the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Recognition of Partners and Stakeholders last December 7 in Iloilo City.

The city through the Bago City Health Office (CHO) was awarded as Best Performing local government unit in the 2017 Field Health Services Information System Reporting in Western Visayas and took home P500,000 cash.

A Special Award in Health Governance was also given to Bago with a cash prize of P200,000.

Other awards include the Plaque of Recognition for Compliance to National Standards on the Establishment of Adolescent Friendly Health Facilities and the Provision of Adolescent Friendly Services.

Bago was also recognized by the DOH Western Visayas for having a functional local Aids Council.

The Schools Division of Bago was also given an award for “their effort and commitment in providing health education and advocacy on the importance of personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and deworming of school children.”

Chief Nurse Nona Obando of the CHO received the awards and the cash prizes for Bago City.

Mayor Nicholas Yulo congratulated the men and women of the CHO for the achievements of the city.

He said that his administration will continue to support the programs and projects of the CHO for the betterment of the people of Bago. (PR)
