IT ALL started three years ago when students from Muhammad Diah University in Malang City decided to help the villagers residing at Jodipan village. This was done as part of their project at school.

This village in Malang City is made up of hundreds of different small houses that can be seen when one is on the bridge. One can then observe how the different colors complement with the cute houses and the wall paintings and designs on the walls.

Initially, the students partnered with paint companies to pull off their project of painting the exterior of the houses to make it appear more attractive to the passersby and motorists traversing through the bridge. Little did the students know, this gesture would lead the village into being known in the world of social media. This is because almost every corner of the village is “Instagrammable.”

With Jodipan village gaining fame especially to tourists, it inspired the villagers to also dress up their houses, the alleys, and to put up murals that the tourists would take their picture with.

There are three parts of the entire village, the Kampung Warna Warni (colorful village), Kampung Biru (blue village), and the Kampung 3D (3D village).

The name of the colorful village became a hit that it now helps with the income of the villagers. For only 3,000 Indonesian Rupiah, the tourists can have unlimited access to the beautiful designs and even the glass bridge. For people who are very much into improving their Instagram feed, this place is perfect for you.

Although, parking space may not be as feasible as in other areas, there are also some spaces only within walking distance that one can park their cars.
