PERSONNEL of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula arrested one of the most wanted persons in a manhunt operation in Zamboanga del Norte, a police official announced Sunday, December 16.
Rene Bal-as, 33, was arrested around 5 a.m. Saturday, December 15, in Barangay Nazareth, Sergio Osmeña, Zamboanga del Norte.
Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis Licup, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, said Bal-as has a standing warrant of arrest for murder and is listed as number three most wanted person in Sergio Osmeña.
He said the warrant of arrest against Bal-as was issued February 23, 2018 by the Dipolog City court. Bail was recommended at P200, 000.
He said Bal-as is now detained at the police headquarters of Sergio Osmena for proper disposition. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
