BINIBINING Cebu 2018 contestant Teri Marina Colmenares refused to divulge the identity of the person who supplied her with high- grade marijuana.
Guadalupe Police Station Chief Dexter Basirgo said Colmenares’ mother tried to convince her to cooperate with the police, but the 22-year-old suspect did not give them any information.
“Kon mitug-an pa siya sa iyang source, makuha unta dayon to namo. Morag naa siya’y gikahadlokan (If only she revealed who her source is, we would have been able to arrest the source. But it seems she fears somebody),” Basirgo said.
Colmenares was caught in a drug bust on Escario St. in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City last Dec. 15 at 2 a.m. She yielded nine packs of “kush cannabis.”
Also seized from her were P2,600 in different denominations, a cell phone and her vehicle.
Basirgo said they will file the charges against Colmenares on Monday, Dec. 17, after they will get the chemistry report from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7.
Colmenares will be facing complaints for violating Sections 5 and 11 (selling and possession of illegal drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Selling marijuana and other illegal drugs is a non-bailable offense.
Colmenares’ name surfaced after the arrest of Nicole Allan Casiño, who admitted that he sourced his marijuana from the Binibining Cebu pageant contestant.
The police conducted an operation against Casiño after a disc jockey, who was arrested last Dec. 8 for illegal drugs possession, identified him as his source.
Casiño yielded seven pieces of lysergic acid diethylamide, a hallucinogenic drug. (KAL)
