Oro barangays with active rehab programs hailed

THE City Government has recognized only four barangays with the most active Community-Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP).

Among the barangays cited were barangays Gusa, Camaman-an, Carmen, and Lapasan.

"We wanted unta to make it top five but unfortunately, kining 4 barangays lang gyud ang nakapasar according to our evaluation and deliberation," Rhyselle Descallar, head of the Oro Citizens Wellness and Development Center.

The criteria include an ongoing and existing programs for the drug surrenderers, an aftercare program for the recovering drug respondents, active in the programs and activities set by the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, among others.

Descallar said the recognition was done mainly to encourage other barangays to participate and implement an active CBRP that produces results.

"We hope that they will do better in 2019," she added.

The top four barangays received P2,000 each and a certificate of recognition.

Earlier, the Oro Wellness disclosed that some 28 villages still do not have the mandated CBRP.

The list includes urban barangays 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30, 32, 34, 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40. Hinterland villages such as Besigan, Dansolihon, Tumpagon, Pigasag-an, Taglimao, Tagpangi, Bayanga, Pagalungan, and barangay Pagatpat also do not have their own CBRP. Barangays Balulang, Indahag, Consolacion, Bonbon, Balubal and Puerto have yet to activate their CBRP too.
