THE 12th Cebu Marathon is opening an additional 200 slots each for the 42-kilometer and 21K categories for the race on Jan. 13 next year at the Cebu Business Park.
“Due to the insistent public demand we will be opening additional slots for the 42K and 21K starting on Dec. 18 (Tuesday),” said Kenneth Casquejo of Cebu Executive Runners Club (CERC), the group behind the race.
Registration was closed on Monday with about 3,218 runners before the working committee decided to add slots for the 42K and 21K.
The registration for the 5K category also resumes. There will be no limit in the 5K category.
“We closed yesterday (Monday) to evaluate the registration. So far, we got more than 3,000 participants since we opened in September,” he said.
The organizers have set the date for the race kit claiming on Jan. 9 to 12 at the Active Zone, Ayala Center Cebu. The annual race, which is one of the activities in line with Sinulog Festival, is expected to have more than 32 countries represented. (RSC)
