NegOcc: Random drug test lesson for workers

NEGROS Occidental Acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said on Monday, December 17, the random drug test conducted on capitol employees should serve a lesson to them.

She said the two employees who were confirmed positive in the drug test will undergo drug rehabilitation for six months using their respective leave credits in their own expense.

Gelvolea said the rehabilitation will involve their respective families as their cooperation is important for the success of their rehabilitation.

“The Provincial Human Resource and Management Office has already called their attention to go to the Department of Health (DOH)-accredited doctor to further undergo the test and will be waiting for the recommendation of the DOH on what level of rehabilitation will be given to them,” she said.

“We won't suspend but they have to go on leave for six months to undergo the recommended rehabilitation, depending on the determination of the DOH of the level of their use. But maybe the most will be six months which will be charged to their leave credits,” she added. (TDE)
