Midori grants Christmas wishes of 800 children

THE Midori Hotel and Casino has granted the Christmas wishes of some 800 children, who are mostly Aetas, as part of its yearly gift-giving project dubbed Angels' Dream.

Dr. Irineo Alvaro, BB International president and Midori hotel general manager, led the ceremonial distribution of gifts during a ceremony at the hotel Tuesday, December 18.

During the event, Alvaro told the kids that Christmas is the time when people share their blessings to each other.

“In our own little way, this is how we express how thankful we are, the group of BB International which operates Midori, Aqua Planet, Eaglesky to share our blessings to little children,” Alvaro said.

Chan, for his part, said the beneficiaries of the Angels' Dream are expected to reach 1,000 next year.

More than a month after the launch and hanging of wishes, the 800 kids are back to the hotel to receive their presents and fulfill their dreams.

After the gift-giving day, Midori representatives will personally visit schools in in Sapang Bato, Sitio Target and Monicayo, Haduan, Calapi, Macapagal and Marcos Village.

Midori’s top officials including Midori Casino general manager Manny Aure were present.

Jumong Rogando, a pupil at Sapang Bato Elementary School, shared his experience and delivered his gratitude to the Midori and its executives.

“Kami po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa mga biyayang ipinagkaloob ninyo sa amin. Sa oras pong ito ay umaapaw sa aming mga puso ang galak dahil ipinagkaloob kayo sa amin ng Poong Maykapal/Apu. Mula po sa aming mga batang Ayta, maraming-maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat.”

Angels’ Dream is the corporate social responsibility program of Midori Clark Hotel and Casino. Launched in 2016, the program granted the wishes of about 300 Aeta kids during its first year and 600 wishes last 2017.

On its third year, the program had aimed to beat its 2017 record by fulfilling the wishes of 800 Aeta kids.

Darlene Achumbre, Midori Hotel's assistant sales and marketing manager, said that “Angels’ Dream aims to make the Yuletide Season even brighter, more meaningful and something that always leaves a jolly mark on the heart.”

Achumbre thanked their sponsors and the media for supporting their “noble project.”
