CALLING it a legacy of their founders, Edmun Liu, chief executive officer (CEO) of Oakridge Realty Development Corp., said they are continuing to develop the resources that were passed on to them.

This was after the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) awarded Oakridge Business Park as the Destination of the Year for its “diverse dining and lifestyle venues, business conferences destination, shopping options, and home for every kind of celebration.”

“Thank you to the City of Mandaue for allowing us to participate in the growth of Mandaue. We were blessed that we have resources that were passed on to us by our founders, and we did our best to be able to continue the value of stewardship and the value of continued growth,” Liu said.

“The present administration of Mandaue City, in collaboration with the MCCI, have grown our city that we love so much to such great heights, and we are so honored and privileged to be part of that growth,” he added.

Oakridge Business Park is home to the Oak Tree Drive 1 and 2 for retail and dining spaces, and Oakridge I.T. Centers 1, 2 and 3 for I.T. businesses and corporations.

Also in the complex are Block Eighty-Eight, Oakridge Pavilion, Oakridge Horizons and Oakridge Executive Club.

Oakridge Realty Development was one of four companies the MCCI honored on Monday, Dec. 17, for contributing to the growth of Mandaue City.

For the Local Product of the Year, Mandaue’s Nutricious bagged the award for the various delicacies they produce showcasing the taste of Mandauehanons.

“The Chamber recognizes Mandaue’s Nutricious as a homegrown brand with humble beginnings. We are aware that through passion and entrepreneurial drive, the company grew into a recognized local small business enterprise with several retail outlets in Cebu and continues to expand due to increasing demand,” the chamber said (See related story, page 26).

“It’s also a recognition of the company’s corporate culture that has shaped the culture of Mandaue and has helped foster its spirit of business ingenuity and innovation,” the MCCI stated.

Augusto Go, founder and president of University of Cebu, was also awarded Mentor of the Year for “setting the example of business with a social cause.”

“Your educational institutions have nurtured thousands of graduates from various fields, your business models, which promotes inclusiveness, is the perfect example of going beyond profits to converge the benefits of business for social good,” the MCCI said in a statement. (JOB)
