Panthers stay unbeaten in Elite

THE former champion Panthers ended the year on a winning note after slamming the Tigers, 91-51, at the Visayas Glass Gym to solidify its hold on the top spot in the Elite Basketball Club-Cebu City Season 13.

The Panthers remained spotless this season with an 8-0 (win-loss) card heading to a much-deserved Christmas break, with the games resuming next year.

The Panthers fired on all cylinders in the blowout win that saw five players scoring in double digits led by Mhel Abella who canned in 24 points. Kim Peque chipped in 17, Mark Panerio added 16, Neil Buot handed 12 and Prince Panes finished with 11.

Zarjoe Restauro led the Tigers, which dropped to a 4-3 slate.

The Lions, meanwhile, were equally impressive with a mastery over the Wolves, 83-56, to improve to a 6-2 slate at second place.

Jon Chua and Sam Cadavos exploded for 29 and 23 points to lead the Lions, who broke away from the start before posting a double-digit 45-32 lead at the half.

In the other games, the Sharks survived Rams, 77-76; the Eagles clawed the Hawks, 86-83; while Stallions downed the Mambas, 83-72. (RSC)
