32 beneficiaries become landowners

THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Provincial Office in Cebu installed 32 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in sugarcane lands covered under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (Carp) in the northern town of Medellin, Cebu last Nov. 20.

DAR Cebu Sheriff Herman Capule read aloud the writ of execution for the installation of the ARBs in Carp-covered landholdings.

Spearheading the activity was Dr. Antonio A. Del Socorro, provincial agrarian reform program officer II of DAR Cebu, together with other DAR Cebu officials and employees. Farmers and barangay residents in the areas of installation joined to witness the event.

Del Socorro extended his gratitude to the local government unit of Medellin for the success and peaceful Installation of the beneficiaries in the area. He congratulated the farmers as they can now officially start doing business as new landowners. He further encouraged them to make the land productive and stay active in participating meetings and other activities of the farmers’ organizations in the area, as well as meetings that will be facilitated by DAR and other partner agencies, as more support services from the government will go to them through their organizations or cooperatives.
