THE Police Regional Office in Davao (PRO-11) seized some P30 million worth of shabu, or methamphetamine hydrochloride, from January to November 2018 while a total of 1,608 drug personalities were arrested.
PRO 11 spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Jason Baria on Wednesday, December 19, said that in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, a total of 1,173 anti-drug operations were conducted.
During these operations, authorities confiscated 121,640 grams of marijuana and 2,009 grams of shabu with estimated value of P30.416 million while 1,150 cases were filed before the court against the suspects.
“We have a variance pa tayo ng 23 na hindi pa na-file na case,” Baria said.
Under their anti-illegal gambling campaign, a total of 1,308 operations were conducted while 2,646 gamblers were arrested.
Police also seized P763,988 bet money and confiscated items while 1,200 cases were already filed against the arrested individuals.
In illegal fishing, Baria added that 37 operations were conducted and 54 were arrested, P45,850 worth of fish and P953,550 worth of paraphernalia were confiscated, while 22 cases were filed.
Against illegal logging, 89 operations were held resulting in the arrest of 60 persons and recovery of 78,218 bd ft, 1,806 log bolts and 3,883 lumber with estimated value of P1.46 million. A total of 30 cases were filed against illegal loggers.
Meanwhile, 200 operations were implemented against loose firearms and 356 personalities were arrested while 106 high-powered firearms and 122 low powered firearms were recovered. A total of 183 cases were filed.
A total of 549 operations were conducted while 40 personalities were arrested involving 47 motor vehicles and 47 motorcycles.
Overall, a total of 3,356 police operations resulted in the arrest of 4,767 suspects, seizure of assorted items and the filing of 2,605 criminal cases in court against the suspects from January 1 to November 30.
