Maxcey's Veranda seizes early lead

MAXCEY’S Veranda team struck for a total of 1,184 pinfalls after two games to lead the SBC President's Cup Bowling Tournament 2010 at the Fairlanes Bowling Center Tuesday night.

Diagold 1 and Diagold 2 are occupying the next two spots after hitting 1,179 and 1,161 pinfalls, respectively, in the event organized by the Sunday Bowlers Club.

The 4M Engineering garnered 1,159 pinfalls to place fourth, while Homer scored 1,137 for the fifth place.

The Dabawenyo Bowlers Association (1,128), D' Dreamers (1,118), BJT (1,115), Bravorm (1,089), Dover (1,083) and Fedco (1,071) wounded up in the top 10 of the seven-game eliminaton series tournament.

Trailing behind were Adventurers (1,070), Davao City Water District (1,067), Alsons (1,061) and OMDH (968).

SBC president Emie Orteza said games will resume tonight. Late registrants, according to him, may still play make-up games.

A total cash prize of P25,000 is at stake to the winners with the champion team receiving P8,000 while the next three placers will go home with P6,000, P4,000 and P3,000. They will also receive trophies. (MLSA)
