Mayor assures bizmen Bacolod's competitiveness

BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia told the businessmen and civic leaders that Bacolod is among the top cities in the country when it comes to competitiveness, being business-friendly, and the quality of life in the city.

He cited the numerous awards accorded to the city, not only by government agencies but also by private organizations, such as the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which recognized Bacolod's distinction as one of the most business-friendly cities in the country.

The mayor recently met with the members of the Thursday Club at the NFSP Social Hall during the celebration of the group's 25th anniversary.

He assured them that the city will continue to be business-friendly so that the economy will be robust and its benefits will trickle down to the grassroots.

With the mayor was Councilor Cindy Rojas, daughter-in-law of Enrique Rojas, president of the National Federation of Sugarcane Planters and a long-time stalwart member of Thursday Club. (PR)
