San Fernando ‘most family-oriented’ place, says mayor

MAYOR Edwin Santiago recently promoted the City of San Fernando, Pampanga’s capital city, as the “most family-oriented” tourist destination, especially this holiday season.

Located strategically at the heart of Central Luzon, Santiago said the city and its people offer a wide variety of family-oriented activities that tourists of all ages can experience all-year-round.

He cited the “one-of-a-kind year-round spirit of Christmas” experienced in the City of San Fernando which reinforces its brand as the country’s Christmas capital and the home of the giant lanterns.

He also noted of the artistic crafts and creations and wide selection of “lutong Kapampangan” offered in several homegrown restaurants in the city that suits the taste of everyone and can be enjoyed by families.

Moreover, Santiago took pride of the city’s culture and heritage and the Fernandino brand of service exhibited by locals which is significant in its continuously growing tourism industry.

“Everything we offer here in San Fernando is from the heart, sprinkled with passion and love to ensure that our guests will enjoy their stay here. We ensure that our city remains the most family-oriented place to visit as we take pride in becoming one of the most child-friendly cities in the country,” he said.

Santiago cited the recently-concluded Giant Lantern Festival main competition as an example of a true collective effort participated in by the local government, private sector, and the residents, manifesting the true Fernandino spirit.

“The spectacular and one-of-kind experience during the ‘Ligligan Parul’ is a creation of people who are deeply-embedded with culture, artistic craftsmanship, love of labor and keen spirit which is the brand of the Fernandino spirit,” he said.

Santiago invited both domestic and foreign tourists to bring their families to San Fernando and experience the year-round Christmas and Fernandino brand of service.
