THE Environmental Management Bureau (EMB)-Davao Region inspected the alleged septic tank in a beach resort in Talomo District, Davao City.

Concerned citizen Fred Salcedo posted Thursday evening, December 19, on Facebook that there was an alleged septic tank along the shores between Mervillas Beach Resort and Dumoy Garden Resort.

Salcedo said an Almira Bernado sent him a private message on his Facebook account, saying that it was a catch basin for excess rainwater not a septic tank.

“The question is, they said it is for excess rain water? How come panay ang agos sa liquid kahit walang ulan (How come the water from the tank flows continuously without rain),” Salcedo said.

He added that garbage was also seen along the shoreline of the beach.

He said that posting the pictures in public was meant for proper authorities to know the incident.

However, Miralou Blanco of the Environmental Management Bureau Davao Region said in an interview with SunStar Davao that there was a team assigned to check the facilities and water of the resort.

EMB will have yet to make a final report, thus, details of the inspection cannot be disclosed yet, she added.(RJC)
