Cebu jins up for P1M jackpot

THE Cebu Taekwondo Dance team, reinforced by Cagayan de Oro pride Shannen Hembrador Sia, gets the chance to win bigger prizes in the noon-time TV show of ABS-CBN.

This, after the Sia-spiced up Cebu jins yesterday topped the Cebu City edition's "It's Showtime. Magpasikat Na" Weekly Finals that catapulted them to the blockbuster program's Grandfinals in March, offering a P1-million cash prize to the winner.

"I'm so happy with this development kay kalit lang nibisita ang show sa Cebu...naka-apil `mi nga wala damha tapos nakadaug nga enjoy lang unya walay pressure," the 17-year-old Sia, a freshman BS Physical Therapy student at Cebu Doctors College, told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro.

Vice Ganda, who is the pre-lunch blare's ultimate judge, went to sum up Sia group's performance in the Weekly Finals with the striking "Triple K" which he spelled out as "Kahanga-hanga, Ka-aliw-aliw at Karapat-dapat" "na manalo."

The equally-charged up "Wave Onyx" dancers appeared as the Cebu Taekwondo Club's closest rival for the top honors as their acrobatic moves and overall impact had the judges--including rapper Andrew E., Gab Valenciano and Miss Earth Karla--become eventually confused in their decision.

"The choreography was the same with their number last Tuesday. Yet, they still managed to draw a perfect 10 from the hurado. Of course, they have to innovate comes the grandfinals kay mas stiff and challenging na ang competition," said Shaneen's amiable mom, Cheryl.

Like their first win on last Tuesday's elimination round, the high-energy Cebu jins pocketed another P50,000 in the Weekly Finals, bringing to P100,000 the group's total earnings in the show's week-long run in the Queen City of the South.
