Anti-drug abuse body gets functionality award

THE Zamboanga City Anti-Drugs Abuse Council (ZCADAC) has been adjudged by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as the most functional anti-drugs abuse body this year in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

Isidro Cillo, Jr., DILG-Zamboanga City Office Operations Division chief, said ZCADAC bested the Provincial Anti-Drugs Abuse Councils (PADACs) in Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte.

Cillo said the ZCADAC garnered a functionality rating of 80 percent, the highest among the provinces and highly urbanized city category in the region.

He said the functionality award will be conferred on ZCADAC in a ceremony scheduled for December 28, 2018 at the DILG central office.

The honor has been attributed to ZCADAC’s accomplishments in the implementation of various programs and activities against the illegal drugs, not to mention the efficiency of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) under Dr. Elmeir Jade Apolinario, being the head of the ZCADAC Secretariat.

He congratulated the ZCADAC for having been adjudged as most functional in the region, the first recognition ever since its creation years back.

Salazar, as the mayor, sits as the chairperson of ZADAC.
