DOWNHILLER Raul Tabil Jr. saved his best in the last run to win the Outbreak Downrage Singko Downhill MTB competition in Liburon, Carcar City on Sunday, Dec. 16.
Tabil of V12 Rad Gear Team finished the 2.8-kilometer DH route that had drops and jumps in 2 minutes and 12.9 seconds to win the men’s elite division.
Tabil had a seeded time of 2:24.4 before showing off his best with an improvement of more than 10 seconds to win the finals in a dominating fashion.
Hermocillo Batchub Semblante of JN/Outbreak Adrenaline Wear was the second fastest DH rider with a time of 2:20.1. He was followed by Wendel Barba of Team Barba in 2:21.4.
Fria Cavero of Sikadholic MTB, meanwhile, ruled the women’s division after clocking 3:58.01, escaping Maine Medillo of Team Bolok by two seconds. Cavero dominated the women’s division even at the seeding run with a time of 3:57.08.
In the other divisions, the champions were Jonathan Verga of V12 Rad Gearclocked (2:37.2, idols), Marco Gonzales of TCG/Outbreak/Bamjopals (2:31, 19-Under), Raphael Charliemagne Marzan (2:30.1, 20-29) and Nick Angelo Velasco of Outbreak Infantry (2:34.6, hardtail). RSC
