ACCORDING to Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Cagayan de Oro province ranked third among the areas in the country in terms of tax payment.
Marietta Lorenzo, BIR deputy commissioner, said the BIR was able to collect P82.7 million, or 32 percent collection, from the city as of January 2010.
She said this makes Cagayan de Oro the third best tax payer next to Makati City and Quezon City.
This, as a lot of strategies has been implemented by the agency for greater participation by the taxpayers as it ensures higher voluntary compliance on their tax obligations. (Nicole J. Managbanag/Sunnex)
