TO support the government’s tourism thrust, a company is aiming to become a major player in the amusement industry in Cebu.
Cedric Reyes, head of sales, marketing and press relations of Anjo World Theme Park, said they want to contribute to the volume of local travelers in the province.
“We certainly want to boost tourism in Cebu, together with the other attractions. We want to support the Department of Tourism in any way that we can,” he said.
Even if the location of the theme park is kilometers away from the city center, Reyes is confident the theme park will entice families to make the trip to Barangay Calajoan, Minglanilla and spend the day at the amusement park.
Recently, the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT) deployed soldiers in Minglanilla to help with the traffic in the area and instill road discipline among motorists.
From Cebu City to Minglanilla, one has to travel almost 18 kilometers passing through the Cebu South Coastal Road.
“Their travel time will be worth it because this is a total destination complex,” he said.
Anjo World is part of the Belmont One complex. Aside from the theme park, a convention center, a mall and a hotel are also being planned for the integrated family-oriented entertainment complex.
“This is the Belmont Group’s way of saying thank you to those who have been supporting them. It is also giving back to the locals something different,” he said.
The theme park was opened to the public on Saturday, Dec. 22, with seven out of 12 rides operational.
Reyes said they are hoping to finish everything by February.
They are also offering an unlimited day pass for the theme park for P450 from Mondays to Fridays, and P550 for Saturdays and Sundays.
“They can add P200 if they also want to experience Snow World instead of the usual rate of P350,” he said.
Because the rides are all brand new, Reyes assured that the visitors are in safe hands.
“Safety is our priority. We have a safety team who is trained abroad to make sure that international standards will be implemented here. So that’s why we’re also members of the of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions because they set the standards abroad,” Reyes said. (JOB)
