Netflix ends 2018, greets 2019 with new Korean series

A three-part series that tells the story about Korea’s first soprano and her genius playwright boyfriend, “Hymn of Death” is now available of Netflix.

“Hymn of Death” is a beautiful yet tragic love story that has been recreated in various formats including films, plays and musicals throughout the years.

Lee Jong-suk plays the writer Kim Woo-jin, while Shin Hye-sun will play the talented soprano Yun Sim-deok. “Hymn of Death” is directed by Park Soo-jin and written by Cho Soo-jin.

For the New Year, fans can prepare for the launch of the first season of “Kingdom.”

In a kingdom defeated by corruption and famine, a mysterious plague spreads to turn the infected into monsters. The crown prince, framed for treason and desperate to save his people, sets out on a journey to unveil what evil lurks in the dark.

“Kingdom” stars Ju Ji-hun, Bae Doona, Ryu Seung-yong, Kim Sang-ho and Heo Joon-ho. It is directed by Kim Seong-hun and written by Kim Eun-hee.

Kingdom will be launched worldwide, Jan. 25, 2019. (PR)
