Valley council approves 2019 budget

LA TRINIDAD officials approved during its session the P394 million budget for the coming year, higher by P49 million than last year.

It is increasing for the different programs, projects and activities to be funded for the calendar year 2019 of the Benguet capital town.

Mayor Romeo Salda stated the lion’s share of the 2019 budget goes to the mayor’s office with P58 million with different offices involved in tourism, cooperative development, and solid waste management.

The municipal council was allotted P28.5million while the Municipal Health Office is given P28.2 million and P27.8 million for the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office.

Agriculture office was allocated P15.3 million while Engineering has P10.5 million.

The council also passed a resolution approving the 20 percent development fund amounting to P55 million.

The development fund will be used in 92 projects which vary from health services, education, social welfare and development, general public service, environment management sector, flood and erosion control services transport services roads, footpaths, bridges, water system development services and tourism development services all equivalent to the 22.4 percent of the Internal Revenue Allotment of the Valley.

The recently approved 2019 budget of the town will be transmitted to the Benguet Provincial Board for their review.
