DCPO deploys personnel to apprehend violators of the firecracker ban

THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) deployed personnel in different areas to apprehend those who will be violating the city's firecracker ordinance during the holidays.

“Para sa inyong kasayuran, gideploy nato sa tanang crime prone areas ang atong mga kapulisan to monitor kung naa bay mga insedente ng pabuto (We deployed policemen in crime- prone areas to monitor if there are firecracker incidents,” DCPO director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum said in an interview.

Tagum added that there are also covert cops patrolling in different areas to observe and to apprehend violators.

Over 2,000 policemen excluding force multiplier and augmentation coming from the region as well as their counterpart in the military will be deployed throughout the holiday season.

So far, based on the report of Task Force Davao, they have not noted any attempt yet to sneak in firecrackers inside Davao City or transport even these banned items.

It has been 15 years since Davao City has not recorded any firecracker incident due to strict implementation of the ordinance and awareness of the public.

Meanwhile, Tagum reminded the public to be alert of pickpocketing incidents now that such incident is rampant, taking advantage of the Christmas rush but so far, based on his monitoring, they have not noted any incident.

“Nagpasabot ana na although siguro naay nahitabo but the victims wala nagpa blotter, wala man ta nag-ingon nga basin wala pero the mere fact na based on my survey sa police station, walay reported (Although there are pickpocketing incidents, but the victims did not report it to authorities),” Tagum added.

Thus, he urged the victims to report it to them so they could give immediate action on the incident.
