Eating healthy is top resolution for 2019

MOST Filipinos are optimistic about 2019, said a survey commissioned by Cebu-based financial services company Flexi Finance Asia Inc., with 94 percent of all respondents across gender and age brackets forecasting good times for the new year.

Flexi Finance chief marketing officer Richard Lorincz said the survey focused on the New Year’s resolutions of respondents, which included 1,000 Filipinos aged 25 to 55 years old from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

About 32 percent of respondents would have four or more resolutions for the New Year. However those below 50 years old tend to have four or more resolutions, while those aged above 50 years old tend to have only one or two resolutions.

“From losing weight, exercising regularly, eating healthier, having more fun, spending more time with the family, or changing one’s look, the most common resolutions all focus on developing more positive habits,” said Lorincz.

The top New Year’s resolution in the survey is eating healthier, getting the nod of 53 percent of all respondents. This is followed by losing weight at 47 percent, exercising at 44 percent, spending more time with family at 42 percent, and having more fun at 39 percent.

“For many, keeping New Year’s resolutions is a real struggle. We provide financing options that makes keeping those goals less of an effort,” said Lorincz. Only 32 percent of respondents said that they won’t be breaking the New Year’s resolutions that they made last year.
