THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Davao Region is planning to file a case against a terminal operator who allegedly harassed some of their personnel during an anti-colorum operation last week.

LTFRB Regional Director Cattleya Acaylar said they are still reviewing the affidavits from witnesses before they will file the case as soon as possible.

On Wednesday, December 26, the LTFRB issued a statement on Facebook denouncing alleged “violent acts committed by a certain terminal operator” towards some LTFRB personnel who conducted “Oplan Biyaheng Ahyos: Pasko 2018” on December 21.

In the statement, it identified the owner of a UV Express with Plate No. NCY 9356 who harassed and threatened some of their personnel.

The LTFRB has also ordered the owner to surrender his vehicle “otherwise, he shall be dealt with the fullest extent of the law.”

The LTFRB added terminal owners and operators are supposed to participate in the government’s campaign against colorum vehicles “and should not act as protectors.”

The LTFRB warned that terminal owners who allow colorum vehicles to operate “will be subjected to fines and penalties as stipulated in the Omnibus Franchising Guidelines.” (LHC)
