3 arrested for separate crimes

EVEN with the holidays, Cordillera police were relentless in their drive against criminality arresting three individuals earlier this week.

This, after Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana, regional director of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRocor) directed all chiefs of police to be vigilant against lawless elements and conduct preventive and proactive operations in coordination with local government units in their respective areas of responsibilities.

Sadanga Municipal Police Station (MPS) personnel with barangay officials of Belwang, Sadanga, Mountain Province responded to a reported domestic violence on December 26 and arrested Warayan Rongorong Sagengan, 59, married, farmer for physically abusing his wife.

The suspect is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9262 otherwise known as the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004.

Meanwhile, Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 15 personnel who were conducting a checkpoint in the evening of December 26, in Sitio Talaca, Barangay Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga, arrested Mardelon Baccay Danggalan, 25, single, farmer and resident of Poblacion, Paracelis, Mt. Province for carrying an unlicensed Cal. 45 1911A1 Norinco and six ammunition.

Danggalan is now facing a case for violation of Republic Act 10591 or otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Joint tracker teams of Tabuk City Police Station (CPS), Traffic Management Unit (TMU) and Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) of Kalinga Police Provincial Office arrested Mario Mejia Mariano, 56 at Purok 5, Bulanao Tabuk City, Kalinga on December 27.

Mariano was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge JR Mendoza of Regional Trial Court, Branch 25, Cabanatuan City for frustrated murder with a recommended bail of P200,000.

The arrested wanted person is now under the custody of Tabuk CPS for documentation prior turn-over to the court concern.

Nana commended the operating units for the successful arrest of the wanted person which is the product of a well-rounded intelligence network.

Nana also lauded the full cooperation of the community wherein there is a need for the public to continue providing law enforcers with vital information that will lead to the arrest of wanted persons who continue to hide from the authorities.

The police chief encouraged the community to report any information about unlawful acts within their respective localities, please report to the nearest police station nearest you, rest assured that all information will be treated with utmost confidentiality, he added further.
