San Fernando tops 9v9 football tilt

SAN Fernando United Football Club stole the limelight from local squads after ruling the men’s open division in the recently concluded Baguio Cup 9v9 Football Tournament at the athletic bowl hatched by the Cordillera Binnadang Football Club (CBFC).

The out of towners edged City High Alumni – Teamberland who settled for first runner-up while Cordilleran Binnadang FC and UC football team salvaged second and third runner –up respectively.

Coach Aries Bocalan said the tournament is a fund raising event aimed to help sustain the education of CBFC scholars and for football equipment of the team.

Ayo Awonyu was named the most valuable player while best midfielder went to Marvin Viray and best striker to Mike Arbela.

In the 17 under category, Futbuleros Football Team snatched the title while Ilocos United FC salvaged first runner–up as Lagawe FC and CBFC settling for second and third runner-up.

Takuyaki Watanabe was named the MVP while Rj Peralta took home the best defender plum with the best midfielder award going to Paul Vincent Arlena as Shake Simon bagged the best striker honor while the best goalkeeper was Jerry Zamora.

CBFC took home the 17 under girls title as San Fernando United went home with the first runner–up trophy.

Xylea Tomas took home the MVP plum while the best defender went to Jemayka Galvez as Julie Peralta bagged the best midfielder while the best striker honor went to Bea Luna as Aira Mae Rivera was named the best goalie.

CBFC also bagged the 15 under girls category with San Fernando United and Magnificos football team settling for second and third place respectively.

Celestina Beatrice Luna lorded the individual awards bagging the MVP honors while named the best midfielder is Xylea Thomas while the best striker honor went to Samantha Beltran and best goalkeeper to Zyra Binay-an.

Tuguegarao City FC edged CBFC for the title in the 15 under boys category while Balili FA, and PUFC took home the third and fourth place honors.

Frederick Pena went home with the MVP honors and best striker while the best defender was Russel Colcoli, best midfielder is Ivan Silva, while the best goalkeeper went to Charles Cuna.

In the 12u mix division CBFC was a cut above the rest edging Tuguegarao FC for the title while Laos FC and NCLFC salvaged third and fourth place.

Duff Lawagan was named MVP as Seymour Pasigon was the best defender while the best midfielder honors went to Christian Tabunair while named the best striker is Cyrus Sabala and best goalkeeper went to Kurt Santiago.

CBFC closed out the tournament with another victory in the 10 under mix division besting first runner–up NCLFC, second runner–up Baguio Central football team and Valenzuela Afre who salvaged third runner-up.

Cyrus Sabala bagged the MVP while the best defender honors went to Ghandre Xander Padcayan while the best midfielder is Angelo Paquite, best striker is Ghaizer Cris Benzon and best goalkeeper is Odelon Castillo. (Roderick Osis)
