7 injured in firecracker-related incidents

SIX individuals, including a 28-year-old man, were reported injured when a firecracker exploded on their hands on Thursday, December 27.

Acting regional director Chief Superintendent Joel Coronel of Police Regional Office Central Luzon identified the victims ages five to 28 years old.

A five-year-old boy allegedly picked up and lighted the said “kwitis” and exploded on his hands, while a 13-year-old boy and girl lighted a firecracker which suddenly exploded on their hands.

Police said a 17-year-old girl, 11-year-old boy, and a 12-year-old boy lighted Five Star and Piccolo firecrackers and then it accidentally exploded.

Police said Robert Arce, 28, from Porac, Pampanga together with his co-workers had a Christmas party until they lighted a firecracker which exploded.

All the victims were taken to the nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Ric Sapnu
