Tell it to SunStar: Parent’s responsibility

THE problem of bullying has always existed in schools since the beginning of time, but to what extent? Here in the Philippines, most men want their son to be macho and care is not given to discipline them or have any form of control.

A child is molded to whatever you, as a parent want, and discipline starts at home. Most parents give the excuse that “he or she is still a child” but fail to remember that molding starts young for there will be no disciplining when they are old.

Consider children brought to public places. Parents allow them to run, scream and to not respect the rights of others. This is the environment that creates bullies; when one loses control of a child.

Most people expect the child to be taught discipline in school but we must remember that people in the schools are teachers and not yayas.

Knowledge is learned in schools. Discipline and behavior is learned at home.--Alfredo Acopan
