Custodia: New leaf

HAPPY New Year Everyone! Year 2019 is a few breaths away! It’s amazing how time passes by so fast, it certainly doesn’t feel like almost 12 months have gone by! Surely, a lot of things have happened since we started 2018 and I hope that most of them have come in your favor! Well, now that the year is almost over, it is time to set our sights on the coming year.

Any new year’s resolutions? Every year most of us swear to actually get them done. I get ideas on mine usually starting the last week of November. Probably because I am always amazed that time could pass by so fast? Is this like an adult thing? I don’t remember ever saying “ambilis ng one year” when I was younger. Time seemed so slow back then. I remember counting the months on the calendar and putting x’s on each day that passed. It took forever to rip out a month!

I wish for us to do better with our “sworn” resolutions next year. God knows most of it remained on paper. Honestly, I achieved quite a lot on my list this year but still, there was more I could have done. Also, we should always set out to do better, right? Just start with simple ones then slowly progress to more complicated things. Oh, and try to make them actually achievable. I have made lofty promises to myself in the past and yes, all were broken by year’s end! Let’s just try to make it more realistic, shall we?

Congratulations to us, for getting to the end of 2018 still standing. I’m pretty sure all of us have gone through major highs and lows this year. For some it may be easy but I know that there are those who experienced major shakedowns in life. It is never easy going through all these challenges but we try so that we can continue on. It may seem weird that one year can contain extremes of emotions but if it happened to you (as it did to me), you know that it is possible, crazy as it may seem. Chin up, those who continue to struggle with these things, the year is not over yet, we still have time to wrap things up. And even if things do not achieve resolution before 2018 is over, be comforted in the fact that 2019 turns over a new leaf. More chances, more time to get things done.

I wish everyone all things positive for 2019. Keep the good vibes going! Keep your chin up and always look for silver linings. Remember the lessons that this year taught you and use it well. No matter what, always be grateful for what you have and remain hopeful that only better things are up ahead for you in the New Year!

Happy Sunday Everyone!
