Fire razes 26 houses in Davao

OVER 26 houses razed while two others were partially damaged during a fire incident in Diamond Street, Santo Niño, Barangay Matina Crossing, Davao City on December 29, 2018.

Based on the initial report furnished by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Davao Region, the fire started at the second floor of one Mia Flor Parais at 4:49 a.m.

The fire reached to third alarm status.

The fire was declared out at 8:27 a.m. on the same day. There were no reports of casualty and injured and the probable cause of fire is still under investigation.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Ramil Gillado, BFP Davao officer-in-charge of the intelligence and investigation section, said that around P2.7 million worth of properties were damaged by the fire.

Davao City Social Services and Development Office head Maria Luisa T. Bermudo said Saturday that their office is already assessing the families, owners or renters of the affected houses.

She added that some of the victims are already staying at the temporary shelters such as Santo Niño chapel and nearest gym while the others stayed at their friends and relatives’ houses.
