Gensan registers more businesses

THE City Government has surpassed last year's business renewal and registration collections conducted last month through the one-stop action center, an official said.

Rodilon G. Lacap, city treasurer, said they collected some P69 million from nearly 6,300 business establishments that renewed licenses to operate as well as from several new entrants.

This year's collections were P431,000 over the revenue of P68.5 million earned in 2008 from such activity, he added.

The City Government has been implementing the one-stop shop center in the past several years to facilitate faster transactions following complaints from business owners that the previous procedure has become burdensome for them.

Under the one-stop shop scheme, all needed signatories to acquire a business permit are housed in one roof.

Last year, the City Government served 5,838 business establishments under the scheme, Lacap said. (BSS)
