CTO to implement online payment

TAXPAYERS in Davao City will be able to process online payment starting on Thursday, January 3, according to the City Treasurers Office (CTO).

CTO head Erwin Alparaque said this development will not only bring convenience to taxpayers but also safety and security.

“Our taxpayers who would want to pay their business taxes and other fees in relation to their business permits, Mayor's permits, licenses renewal, among others, they could do it online just like paying bills through your mobile phones,” Alparaque said.

“Online payment na tayo through Land Bank so this will give comfort and convenience to our taxpayers na dili na sila muadto sa (they don’t have to go to the) office or district offices,” he said, adding that there will be no need for taxpayers to queue while bringing a large amount of money.

Alparaque said this online transaction would be much faster than the traditional one. Especially that renewal of business permits will start on January 3 to 31.

The city has more than 45,000 registered business establishments and this growing number prompted the CTO to find a way to provide a faster and more convenient services to taxpayers.

“The online payment transaction of CTO should be disseminated to taxpayers para aware na sila (so that they will be aware). Even yung mga nasa malayo na may business dito sa city (those who are away and who has a business in the city),” he said.

The said development will also be beneficial to the CTO employees.

Alparaque said that their employees are ready and trained for the shift to online payment transaction.

Meanwhile, Alparaque mentioned that they are also working on with the electronic business permit application this year. (LHC)
