A CONVICTED carnapper has escaped from the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm in Zamboanga City.
Senior Inspector Shellamie Chang, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, said a manhunt operation has been launched to recapture Irebert Baba.
Chang said local officials of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) reported that Baba was discovered to have escaped when an accounting of detainees was held around 3 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
The San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm is a medium-security prison located in the village of Talisayan in Zamboanga City.
Chang said they have coordinated with other law enforcement agencies in the conduct of the manhunt against Baba. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
