Man nabbed for drugs

A 39-YEAR-OLD man was arrested by local authorities in San Simon during an anti-illegal drugs operation launched in Barangay San Agustin recently.

Chief Inspector Louie Gonzaga, the town’s chief of police, identified the suspect as one Alejandro Tiongson, a resident of Barangay San Agustin in the City of San Fernando.

Gonzaga narrated that the personnel of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit set up the drug bust operation against Tiongson who has been under police surveillance due to his alleged involvement in the illegal drugs trade.

During the operation, the poseur buyer was able to purchase a sachet of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from Tiongson in exchange for the P500 marked money, Gonzaga said.

The successful deal, Gonzaga added, prompted the police to immediately declare the arrest of Tiongson and the seizure of a total three sachets of suspected shabu, including the subject of sale.

Tiongson, who is currently detained at this town’s station detention cell, is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga warned anew the remaining illegal drug users and pushers in the town to stop their illicit vices which put theirs and their loved ones lives in jeopardy as the local and national police will continue to implement a crackdown on them.

“It’s either you stop, or face the law, or get killed because your Philippine National Police is serious in eradicating illegal drugs in all communities in the country,” he said.
