2 most wanted persons nabbed in police manhunt

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Through the intensified manhunt operations conducted by police operatives, the number two most wanted person of Angeles City and number three most wanted of San Simon, Pampanga were arrested Wednesday afternoon, January 2.

Operatives of the Angeles City Police Office-Police Station 3 arrested Edcel Tropel, 20, number two most wanted person of Police Station 3, a resident of Barangay Pandan, Angeles City by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 60, Angeles City for frustrated murder.

Meanwhile, joint operatives of the San Simon Municipal Police Station, Pampanga Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat), Pampanga Special Operations Group (PSOG) and third MP-second Provincial Mobile Force Company armed with a warrant of arrest proceeded to Barangay San Pedro, San Simon, Pampanga and arrested Francis Bagtas, a resident of the said place and number three most wanted person of San Simon.

The said warrant was issued by Judge Maria Josephine Rosario-Mercado of RTC Branch 55, Macabebe, Pampanga for rape under Article 266-A, 1(a) of the RPC as amended by Republic Act 8353 with no bail recommended.

Police Regional Office-Central Luzon director Police Chief Superintendent Joel Napoleon Coronel said that continuous manhunt operations against wanted persons are being carried out and at the same time the entire Central Luzon police force is maximizing its anti-criminality efforts to attain its quest of a safer place to live, work, and do business.
