Anti-drug ops net 3 people, P44,100 ‘shabu’

ANTI-DRUG operatives arrested three people and seized some P44,100 worth of illegal drugs in separate drug busts in Zamboanga City, the police said Friday, January 04.

Arrested were Dhipyzel Julkanain, 24; Gilbert Domingo, 39; and Arian Maturan, 28, according to Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer.

Galvez said Julkanain was arrested in a drug bust around 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Campo Islam village.

She said seized from the possession of Julkanain were P40,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” packed in three large-size plastic sachets, P200 marked money, and a motorcycle.

The police official said that Domingo yielded some P3,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 10 small-size plastic sachets and P200 marked money when arrested around 10:30 p.m. of same day in Ayala village.

At 11:55 p.m. Thursday, Maturan was caught in possession of some P1,100 worth of suspected shabu packed in five small-size plastic sachets and P100 marked money in Tumaga, Galvez said.
