A MAN was arrested at a checkpoint of Task Force Davao (TFD) in Sitio Licanan, Barangay Lasang, Bunawan District Friday, January 4, for possession of illegal drugs.
John Michael Mariapo Pulvera, 30, was arrested by a squad of Task Group Lawin after he was found carrying two sachets of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride inside his right pocket.
TFD commander Colonel Nolasco Mempin said Pulvera was onboard a public utility van (PUV) from Panabo City heading towards Davao City.
Pulvera was searched and asked to show what was inside his right pocket.
The substance weighed 0.2 gram with an estimated street value of P3,000.
Pulvera and the recovered items were turned-over to Bunawan Police Station for proper disposition.
In 2018, TFD apprehended 95 persons for illegal drugs and seized more than 13 kilograms of marijuana and 115 grams of shabu amounting to P3.5 million. (JCR)
