Langtad, Naga fire downs 12 houses

AROUND 12 houses were destroyed during a late afternoon fire in Sitio Mohon, Barangay Langtad, City of Naga on Saturday, Jan. 5.

The fire was reported around 3:22 p.m. and was raised to second alarm at around 3:42 p.m., said Senior Insp. Carmelino Dionela, City of Naga Fire Marshal.

Dionela told SunStar Cebu they were able to put the fire under control just before 4 p.m.

Majority of the houses that were destroyed by the fire were made of light materials.

Dionela said the damage was estimated at P300,000.

Based on their initial investigation, the fire started at the house of Marcelina Zamora.

Zamora initially told fire investigators that the fire started after one of the electrical sockets in her house reportedly short circuited.

But Dionela said they are still conducting further investigation to determine if the fire is electrical in nature.

No one was killed or injured during the fire, he added. JKV
