P100,000 worth of shabu seized in Bacolor

BACOLOR -- Operatives of the Police Regional Drug Enforcement Unit seized almost P100,000 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) during an anti-illegal drug operation in this town.

Superintendent Rommel Batangan, who led the drug bust, said the suspect identified as Louiegi Manalang, a resident of Floridablanca, was onboard a motorcycle when he transacted with undercover police.

During the said entrapment operation conducted along the Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Barangay San Vicente here, Batangan said Manalang positively sold a shabu to a policeman which led to the declaration of his arrest.

Manalang surrendered calmly to police operatives who later confiscated seven sachets of shabu, the marked money used in the operation, and other personal belongings from the suspect, according to Batangan.

Manalang was included in the list of drug personality of this town, the police superintendent added.

He said the suspect has long been under surveillance for his alleged involvement in the proliferation of illegal drugs in Bacolor and other Pampanga towns.

Manalang is currently detained at this town’s detention facility. He faces charges for violation of the Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
