EIGHT tribes will be joining the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival 2019 opening salvo from the New Freedom Grandstand at Muelle Loney and along the parade route around the metropolis on Friday, January 11, starting at 3 p.m.
This will be the first public appearance of competing tribes and a sneak preview of the Ati tribes competition on January 27.
They are Panayanon of Iloilo City National High School, Salognon of Jaro National High School, Ilonganon of Jalandoni Memorial National High School, Dagatnon of Ramon Avanceña National High School, Paghidaet of La Paz National High School, Hugponganon of Tiu Cho Teg-Ana Ros Foundation Integrated School, Pan-ay of Fort San Pedro National High School, and Barriohanon of Bo. Obrero National High School.
The tribes will be performing in five stages at Freedom Grandstand, Capitol, Quezon-Ledesma, Aldeguer, and Plaza Libertad, Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. tribe committee chairperson Robert Alor said.
“I encourage everyone to witness the performances. Let us make the opening salvo livelier by cheering for your favorite tribes although their dance steps will just be simpler. They will save and give their best in the highlight,” he said.
Famed Tribu Bola-Bola of Iloilo National High School and Tribu Miru of the Indigenous Community from Barotac Viejo and Anilao will be guest performers during the highlight. (PR)
