Public help sought to solve Imam slay case

BAGUIO City Mayor Mauricio Domogan have called on the public to assist the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Task Group Bedijim for any information which would lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects in the gruesome killing of Muslim Cleric Bedijim Abdullah on December 6, 2018.

Domogan said the local government of Baguio is hoping for someone to help identify the suspects since his identity seen on CCTV footages have been seen in newspapers and television.

“The BCPO are now following leads and I am not at liberty to divulge the information as this might affect the ongoing investigation of the task group which has been tasked to do the investigation. We have asked them to validate the information because information given to them might only be for the purpose of the reward and not for the solution of the case,” Domogan explained.

Newly installed Baguio City Police Director Police (BCPO) Chief Superintendent Eliseo Tanding in December last year announced the creation of a Special Investigation Task Group Bedijim to determine the motive of the killing of the Imam, and the identity of the perpetrator or perpetrators.

Domogan said the government have engaged with top officials of the city’s Muslim community and shared some information on the killing of the Imam.

“We have briefed them by showing the CCTV footages which was published and we call on anyone who can identify the perpetrators so that we may know from where he is and to learn the motive behind the killing,” Domogan added.
