Ludo extends assistance

TO EXTEND help to Naga landslide victims, a charity golf tournament will be held on Jan. 18-19, 2019 at the Cebu Country Club in Banilad, Cebu City.

Around 220 golfers from all over the country, including players from Guam and the United States of America, are expected to join the Ludo Golf Tournament 2019 backed by Ludo Corp., Apo Land & Quarry, Petron, Mactan Electric Company (MECO), and SMC Global Power.

According to Douglas Luym, founder and chief organizer of the Ludo tournament, this initiative is anchored on immediate financial relief through direct donations to those stricken by the disaster.

“This year, we’ll do something different for our Cebuano brothers and sisters, the victim of the landslides,” he said.

Seventy-eight people were confirmed dead, five were missing, and 13 body parts from unidentified persons were recovered after a massive landslide hit Barangay Tina-an and its neighboring villages in the City of Naga, Cebu last Sept. 20, 2018.

The tournament’s proceeds will be given directly to the affected residents of Brgy. Tina-an, Naalad, Mainit, Pangdan, and Cabungahan in the City of Naga, Cebu.

“This is completely independent. The funds that we will get will be given directly to the families. We will gather them in one place and my boss (Douglas Luym) will be the one to directly give the donation to the families,” said Nelson Yuvallos, Ludo Golf Tournament chief of operations.
