THE Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) advised the public to be safe and follow road closures starting 1 p.m. to avoid untoward incident during the Dinagyang opening salvo on January 11.

CDRRMO emergency response head Darwin Joemil Papa said emergencies expected during the event include dehydration and fainting cases.

“Do not insist on entering roads that are closed to traffic because it will create congestion,” Papa said.

Eight tribes will be performing following a carousel type of parade from the New Freedom Grandstand at Muelle Loney going to Aduana, JM Basa St. towards F. Caram Avenue or Arroyo Fountain, General Luna St., Quezon St., Ledesma St., Iznart St., Aldeguer Street, JM Basa St., Dela Rama or Huervas St. near City Hall at Plaza Libertad.

Papa also advised tribe performers to drink enough water before their performance to avoid dehydration.

Eight ambulances from CDRMMO and other agencies will be deployed around the metropolis.

One ambulance will be stationed at each of five performing areas, two will be roaming around the city, and one is a striker ambulance as back-up. (PR)
