THE yearender event for the Amigos de España, held at the Salon Barcelona of the Casino Espanol de Cebu, was a “Feliz Navidad” lunch. Members were requested to bring a “regalo” for the exchange of gifts.

Festive colors dotted the tabletops as lunch was served and enjoyed by the members. Credit goes to food and beverage consultant Bernardo Losada, who had jetted in from Spain, to do a six-month stint at the Casino. General manager May Ocaba was likewise present, to see to every culinary detail. Another highlight was the ”Feliz Navidad” message delivered by “La Presidenta Emerita” Amparito Lhuillier, followed by warm words from Amigos president Myra Gonzalez.

Then the excitement started! Treasurer Julina Muertegui, assisted by Mitos Montilla, had carefully arranged the gifts, numbered them, and passed around numbers to pick! Time to open! Oh! Eyes popped in glee. Others smiled. All in all, everyone was happily surprised!
